What's in it and why?

Ingredients: Organic Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf, Organic Taraxacum officinalis (DandelionLeaf, Organic Leonurus cardiac (Motherwort) Herb, Organic Urtica dioica (Nettle) Leaf, Organic Medicago sativa (Alfalfa) Leaf, Organic Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Leaf, Organic Mitchella repens (Squaw Vine) Herb, Organic Rosa canina (Rosehip) Berry

Raspberry leaf: This classic uterine tonic helps tone the uterus in preparation for the work of labour and birth. It has high levels of manganese, moderate levels of iron, calcium, magnesium, selenium, plus the vitamins A, B, C and E. Overall it's a gentle, effective and nutritive herb.

Dandelion leaf: A gentle and balanced diuretic helping to ease fluid retention, common with late pregnancy. As it's high in potassium it also supports healthy blood pressure. Also rich in folate, B vitamins and calcium.

Motherwort: Aids in preparing and toning the uterus for labour and may help ease the lingering pre-labour pains. Also supportive to a strung-out nervous system

Nettle: One of the best tonic herbs available. Nutrient-rich including iron, helping nourish the pregnancy.

Alfalfa: Another nutritive herb great for any convalescence or debility. Rich in vitamins A, C, D and K.

Peppermint: Deliciously refreshing and calming on digestion. Helps with any nausea or tummy woes.

Rosehip: High in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and C which helps the body absorb the iron from the Nettle.

Squaw Vine: has very similar birth prep properties to Raspberry leaf making for a great combo. Also a gentle diuretic helping with any fluid retention.

How to use

This tea is suitable from 36 weeks onwards.

For optimal effects drink 3-4 cups per day.

May be served warm, cold or iced. Add honey and/or lemon to taste if you wish.

It can be used up until labour begins and even throughout labour, particularly the prelabour and early labour stages.

As you reach the last weeks of your pregnancy, you may begin to feel the 'cumulative effects' of the labour prep herbs (e.g. Raspberry Leaf and Squaw Vine).

This may result in an increase in Braxton Hicks contractions/tightenings - a great sign!
